Structuring Softstack: Blog + Channel

Overview

In my intro post, I shared a bit about who I am and why I started this blog. This post goes a step further by walking you through how I’m structuring Softstack Notes (the blog) and Softstack Studio (the YouTube channel), and how they work together as two parts of the same creative system.

What Is Softstack?

As I mentioned in my intro post, Softstack is my shorthand for the skill set and creative approach I bring to personal projects. Softstack blends UI/UX design, instructional thinking, frontend development, and human-centered logic. Moreover, both the blog and the channel are built around those themes, but they serve slightly different purposes.

Softstack Notes (Blog)

This blog is where I think through projects in writing. Each post is structured to capture:

  • What the project is, and why I built it

  • The UI/UX and instructional logic behind it

  • Design/development hurdles and how I worked through them

  • Important snippets tied to the core functionality when relevant

  • GitHub repos, demos, or walkthroughs when relevant

  • What I learned along the way

Softstack Studio (Channel)

The YouTube channel is a visual companion to this blog. It's where I will share:

  • Short demos of projects

  • Quick breakdowns of UI/UX or interaction choices

  • Key design decisions explained

  • A tip per video (i.e., a design or dev principle I used)

Why This Structure?

I’ve always worked across the gap between content and code, and I wanted a space that reflects that. The blog and channel will let me explore both the thinking and the experience behind what I build.

What’s Next

In the next post, I’ll be breaking down one of my recent interactive projects, including the design logic behind it and a few lessons learned along the way.
