Welcome to Softstack Notes

Overview
My name is Dominique Thomas, and I'm an instructional designer with a creative edge and a curiosity-driven mindset. With over 12 years of experience, I specialize in building tech-forward learning experiences, including eLearning, multimedia, interactive simulations, and frontend prototypes.
This blog is one way I plan to share that work as it evolves. It’s also part of a broader idea I’ve been shaping, a kind of “soft stack” that blends UI/UX design, instructional strategy, frontend development, and human-centered thinking.
What To Expect
Each post focuses on a specific project or feature, covering:
What I built and why
Design decisions and instructional logic
Design challenges and how I addressed them
Code highlights, explained in context when relevant
Links to GitHub and video demos when relevant
A Little More About Me
I hold a Master of Education in Educational Psychology & Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Design. My work focuses on helping people learn, communicate, and solve problems through intentional content and digital experiences.
Outside of work, I'm usually programming, designing games, experimenting with app ideas, or out running and biking with my husband. I'm always exploring new ways to stay curious and build things that help others in the process.
Coming Soon
My first full post will walk through how I'm structuring this blog and its companion YouTube channel—and the thinking behind both. Thanks for reading!
